The week of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities started at VSU with a traditional festival – Poetry Day. Students from all VSU institutes took part in the festival. Each performance told a life story which took the listeners from one epoch to another and to different parts of the globe.
VSU scientist, Anton Sinitsyn, as an expert took part in the competition of scientific and technological projects of the Sirius Educational Center at the Kazan University of Talents.

The woodworking company Segezha Group held a scientific and practical conference “Sokol CLT Report” with the participation of designers, scientists from industry universities and representatives of the timber industry engaged in the development and implementation of engineering construction solutions using CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber). The head of the Department of Industrial and Civil Engineering at VSU Alexander Kochkin took part in it.

The presentation of a new book by geologist Valery Chernyshov, who is a member of the Russian Geographical Society, will take place on March 17 in the Vologda Regional Scientific Library.
The book gives detailed characteristics of the composition and structure of sediments of the main geological epochs, a description of extinct representatives of the animal and plant world, as well as fossils that are still preserved in the terrestrial depths of the Vologda land.
Cross-country skiing competition among the educational institutions of higher education was held in the city of Tchaikovsky. 40 universities teams from all over Russia took part in it.

A major annual scientific event will be held on April 18-22, 2022. The forum is supported by the Government of the Vologda Oblast and the Administration of the city of Vologda, as well as by the Vologda Institute of Law and Economics of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, the North-Western Institute (branch) of the Kutafin University, the Vologda Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The forum aims at presenting the results of scientific research of young people on topical issues of fundamental and applied sciences, as well as at identifying and supporting talented young researchers.
The event has been held for 24 years, it all started in 1999 as a regular conference.
The Vologda Oblast is getting ready for the IX All-Russian Belov Readings, which are to be held in October 2022. The list of events includes the All-Russian conference “Vasily Belov’s creative work: traditions and present echoes”, and the All-Russian scientific and literary seminar “Harmony”. The conference will be coordinated by Vologda State University with the participation of the Vologda Regional Universal Scientific Library. The library has also begun preparations for publication of two collections of short stories by Vasily Belov.
