The collection of books “The French Library – Museum of French Civilization named after V.A. Nikitin” was presented to Vologda State University. .
The collection was donated to the university by Tatiana Sergeeva Valery Nikitin’s widow. On behalf of Vologda State University, the gift was accepted by the Rector of the university Vyacheslav Priyatelev.

Owing to his translations, Russian readers were able to get acquainted with classics of French literature of the XX century.
The lavish collection was formed in the 1990s and 2000s. At least half of these books are present in Russia in a single copy. The collection consists of publications of fundamental research in the field of humanities and socio-political sciences.
