Representatives of Vologda State University together with students support residents of the city during the self-isolation time due to the spread of COVID-19.

Changes to the procedure were made in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The lists of projects submitted for funding under the “UMNIK” program was approved by the Directorate of the Innovation support Foundation. Among them there is a project of a fourth-year student of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Transport of VSU Alina Podolskaya. The project is aimed at developing a digital wireless signaling device for people with impaired hearing. The grant amount totals half a million rubles.

This position is now held by a native Vologodian, Yevgeny Klimanov, who has been a public official of the Vologda Oblast since 2003.

A new technology for repairing electric motors using ultrasound was developed at Vologda State University.

The research and development was carried out for the company “TechStanky”. At the beginning of the project, the designers of Vologda State University had to cope with the task of developing methods for digital design and ensuring the required performance properties of the structural elements of the model.

Currently, 60 students who could not go home are staying in the sanatorium. They, like all residents of the Vologda Oblast, were placed under lockdown. Representatives of VSU Trade Union organization gave the students one more 5-liter can of sanitizer.
