The lists of projects submitted for funding under the “UMNIK” program was approved by the Directorate of the Innovation support Foundation. Among them there is a project of a fourth-year student of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Transport of VSU Alina Podolskaya. The project is aimed at developing a digital wireless signaling device for people with impaired hearing. The grant amount totals half a million rubles.
“I have been working on the project for a year. My project is intended to help deaf people. They will be able to recognize sounds such as the sound of a doorbell or a telephone. The government provides these categories of people with such devices. I am trying to improve the technical characteristics of devices by using a new type of radio signal modulation”, Alina Podolskaya said.
The scientific supervisor of the young researcher is Andrey Ivanov, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical Equipment of Vologda State University.
