Twelve schoolchildren from Vologda took part in the chess competition “Digital rook”. The tournament consisted of five rounds and was held according to the Swiss system. The expert of the tournament was Nikita Lyashuk from the Chess Club “Champion”.

The cross-country skiing championship took place at the stadium “Lokomotiv”. This was the first start of the new season, which showed that VSU skiers were ready to continue training during the pandemic and could show good results.

The competition was organized to reveal the creative aptitude of students, stimulate their research activity, and foster an interest in philosophical studies.
The event gathered participants from the Republic of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Novosibirsk State Technical University, Saratov State University named after Chernyshevsky, North-Western Institute (branch) of O. E. Kutafin University, Ulyanovsk State Technical University and many others.
More than 80 students from Vologda State University took part in the competition. VSU “philosophers” became prize-winners in several categories. Congrats, guys!
The final of the student championship (aka the semi-final of the ICPC world championship) was held online on December 13. The competition gathered more than 350 best teams from Russia and neighboring countries, selected on the results of quarterfinals in their regions.
