The project “Winter journey to Germany” organized by Dr. Klaus Waschik, Director of the Landesspracheninstitut (LSI) at the Ruhr University, started at VSU on November 18.
The VSU students will learn about history, infrastructure, industry, historical landmarks, and life of people in different regions of Germany. The first stop is the city of Essen, one of the most important economic, industrial, educational and cultural centers of North Rhine-Westphalia. Then the road goes to the Harz. The highlands, berhymed by poets, which became the border between the two Germanies after the WWII. Next points on the itinerary – Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Karlsruhe, Freiburg, Munich, Chemnitz, Stralsund, and Berlin. The tour will end in February next year.
The tour is guided by Dr. Frank Hoffmann, a researcher at Ruhr University, and invited experts. This is not just a sightseeing tour, but rather a step-by-step study.
The online tour, which involves all 3rd and 4th year students at the Department of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication, is conducted via ZOOM.
