Vologda Regional Universal Scientific Library announced the results of the book competition “Vologda book of the year – 2019”.
A series of monographs by VSU philologists “Language picture of the world of the Vologda peasants” edited by Elena Ilina, doctor of Philology, Professor at the Department of Russian language, journalism and communication theory, was the best in the scientific publication category.
In 2019, this series included two works, the first dedicated to the images of animals in the language of rural residents of the Vologda Oblast (Elena Ilyina, Lyudmila Saburova, Svetlana Ganicheva), and the second dedicated to the phenomenon of childhood as a special period of human life (Elena Ilyina, Tatiana Komissarova).
Elena Ilina said a few words about the success of the creative team: “I am grateful to the organizers of the contest “Vologda book of the year”, my colleagues and co-authors, as well as those who prepared the book for publication-Natalia Postnikova and Sergey Kudryavtsev. And I am especially grateful to those people whose voices have remained on the pages of our books – the villagers who have preserved for the future generations the patterns of verbal culture of their native land”
