VSU students took part in annual presentation of tourism potential of Vologda Oblast

VSU students studying at Department of tourism and hospitality learned about the current projects and prospective development of tourism in the Vologda Oblast. The annual presentation of the region’s tourism potential was given by Dmitry Shevtsov, deputy head of the Department of culture and tourism.

These meetings traditionally help future specialists in tourism and hotel business make their choice of topics for the final qualifying papers, as well as to find an organization for practical training, and employment.

During the meeting Dmitry Shevtsov spoke about large-scale tourist projects that are being implemented in the region: “Russian coasts”, “Silver necklace of Russia”, “Velikiy Ustyug – homeland of Ded Moroz (Farther Frost)”, “Living lessons”, “Russian house”. He also told the students about tourist projects such as “Playing at home” implemented together with a chain of restaurants in Vologda and Cherepovets during the lockdown in 2020.

Students took an active part in the conversation and asked questions about eco-tourism. They were also interested in measures taken to support the tourism industry during the pandemic.
