The All-Russian student competition of didactic games “Nastolny klass” was held within the framework of the National project “State support of the talented youth”. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University named after Kozma Minin.
The contest aims to support talented young people and assess the quality of training, to improve students’ skills obtained in the learning process, encourage their creative growth, increase interest to the chosen professional activity and form potential for teaching, research and entrepreneurial jobs.
This year the competition was attended by representatives of universities from Izhevsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Kaluga, Moscow, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhny Novgorod, Orel, Penza, Samara, Saransk, Saratov, Tambov, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk and other cities.
The Vologda State University was represented by two students studying the course of Pedagogy.
A 3rd-year student of the Institute of History and Philology of the Vologda State University, Maria Makedonskaya, created a didactic Literature game for pupils of 11th form “Where is logic? In the world of Literature.” Her work is meant to form love and respect for the literary heritage of Russia, develops verbal-logical and visual-imaginative thinking, memory, attention, imagination. According to the results of the competition, Maria’s work took the 2nd place.
Evgenia Fokina, a 2nd-year student of the Institute of Mathematics, Natural and Computer Sciences of VSU, was recognized as the absolute winner of the competition, who took the first place. The didactic Biology game for pupils of the 6th form “The Invisible water world”, created by Evgenia, was highly appreciated by all members of the jury. The future teacher suggests explaining quite complex Biology material to the six-graders in the game form.
Irina Balashova, the research supervisor of the students, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy at VSU, emphasizes the high motivation of both participants of the competition, their self-discipline and creativity, and the professional level of their works. Both games include not only a competent description of the rules, but also colorful handouts, interactive presentations, videos.
