The exhibition of diplomas, letters of gratitude and sports trophies is being held at the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities of VSU. All these awards were brought to the exposition by VSU alumni and current students.
There are some remarkable exhibits among them. For example, the certificate of honor issued by the collective farm “The Dawn of Communism”, which was awarded to first-year students of the Faculty of History back in 1970 for their help in harvesting. Trips “to collect potatoes” were one of the symbols of the student life in those years.
Another historical award is a gratitude letter to the Faculty of Foreign Languages from the chairperson of the Vologda regional branch of the Russian Peace Foundation which was given in 2001 for students’ contribution to peace strengthening and the revival of Russia.
The Peace Foundation was established in 1990 and became the legal successor to the Soviet Peace Foundation. The organization assists socially vulnerable people such as war veterans, orphans, and people with disabilities.
The collection of VSU achievements includes, of course, a lot of certificates, diplomas and sports trophies won by the students in all-Russian and regional competitions in modern days.
