VSU student wins the Grappling Championship

The sophomore at the Department of Computing Systems of VSU, Dierbek Nurmatov, won the Grappling championship in the weight category of 62 kg.

Grappling is a hand-to-hand combat that uses techniques of various martial arts. This sports discipline is based on wrestling and combines techniques of judo, sambo, freestyle wrestling and jiu-jitsu. A Grappling bout is won by the wrestler’s techniques, rather than by his physicality or weight.
