What will an educator of the future be like? How can we apply humanistic pedagogy to digital education?

These and other topical issues were discussed at the Pedagogical session “Scientific and pedagogical discourse at the beginning of the XXI century: history and the present”. The event is timed to the 100th anniversary of Vologda Pedagogical College, and the 110th anniversary of Vologda Teachers’ Institute.

The rector of Vologda State University spoke about the significant role of the teaching profession in modern society.

“On the one hand, the teacher has every opportunity to pass on to young people the knowledge and experience which as historical foundation ensure the stability of the universe. On the other hand, the teacher has the tools that teach the younger generations to change and transform our reality,” said Vyacheslav Priyatelev.

The event brought together not only educators, but also schoolchildren who plan to connect their lives with the teaching profession.

The program of the Pedagogical session is to stimulate the exchange of the best pedagogical practices. This is a crucial part of the successful development of the system of continuing pedagogical education.
