The tournament was held in Vologda from end of December 2020 to March 2021. Vologda State University players did not lose a single game in the season and were the best among eight teams from educational institutions of the Vologda Oblast.
In the finals, the VSU athletes beat the team from Vologda Construction College 75:59 (12:16, 30:21, 16:12, 17:10). The most high-scoring player in this game was Pyotr Lebedev, who scored 15 points and 10 rebounds. Daniil Borodulin scored 13 points, and Sergey Yakovlev scored 12.
Konstantin Lysenko averaged 9.7 points per game at the end of the playoff series.
“The season turned out to be very successful for us, although it seemed to be over in no time. We were in our best shape, improved our individual and team performance, became more united, so I assume, we deserved the victory. Although, I cannot say that the games were easy. Each and every one of them was very important, and we had to do our best to win. Huge shout out to the guys for the season and the victory. But the game is not over! We keep on training for the All-Russian playoffs as part of the main team “BULLDOGS-VSU”.
