The VSU Rector, V. Priyatelev, was elected Chair of the Rectors’ Council; the position became vacant after former chairperson was transferred to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Among other issues on the agenda of the Council is the preparation of universities for the admissions in 2020.

Digital technologies play an important role in the activities of a modern day university and the widespread of IT in educational process demands computer proficiency from employees.

The seminar was organized by the Institute of Limnology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg) and the University of Helsinki (Finland), with the active participation of Vologda State University and was part of scientific events which follow the Ladoga expedition, organized by the Institute of Limnology.

The competition is held annually at Kazan University. Its aim is to identify the best student practical or analytical research papers. The competition is focused on practical research and developments.

The Russian National Library is currently implementing a program for digitizing ancient manuscripts. The program makes it possible for readers from all over the world to get access to the publications from the golden fund of the world cultural and historical heritage. 

According to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Vologda State University is one of 202 Russian universities, where international students will study the Russian language in the academic year of 2021 – 2022.
