The seminar was organized by the Institute of Limnology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg) and the University of Helsinki (Finland), with the active participation of Vologda State University and was part of scientific events which follow the Ladoga expedition, organized by the Institute of Limnology.
University students from Vologda and St. Petersburg, educators and high school students, scientists of the St. Petersburg Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, lecturers of VSU took part in the scientific seminar. Participants from Russia and Finland exchanged friendly video messages.
VSU students Yevgenia Fokina, Maria Petukhova, Vitaly Potapov, and Yuri Sinelshchikov presented four reports at the seminar.
At the end of the seminar the participants came to a unanimous decision to continue cooperation between educational and scientific organizations of the two countries.
The previous online seminar, dated for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia, focused on methods of limnology.
