According to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Vologda State University is one of 202 Russian universities, where international students will study the Russian language in the academic year of 2021 – 2022.
The list of universities was approved by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov on May 20, 2020.
This is not the first time that VSU participates in a competitive selection process. This time, the University applied for 20 foreigners who will attend VSU preparatory courses within the education quota set by the Russian Government.
International students attend pre-university training at VSU Linguistic center, where students take the supplementary educational program “Preparation of foreign citizens for basic educational programs in Russian”.
The program provides students with a wide range of subjects, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology, which they will need to continue their studies in Russian universities.
The program consists of 1008 hours of studying, and lasts for 10 months.
After the program is finished, students are to take exams, if they pass the exams they receive a certificate. In the future, graduates of the preparatory courses can continue their education at VSU or at any Russian Universities. They can submit documents to the office of “Rossotrudnichestvo” in their country. The most successful students will have the opportunity to study at Russian universities for free and receive a scholarship.
