Nikita Bozhko, a veteran of the Vologda State University team, a fourth-year student at the Institute of mathematics, natural and computer sciences, and the current university champion, defended his title with eight wins out of eight.

The second prize-winner was a first-year student Yakov Bolotov (Institute of mechanical engineering, energy and transport) with six victories, and the third place was taken by Kirill Putnikov, a student at the Institute of culture and tourism.

All three winners have earned the right to defend the honor of VSU at the chess tournament of the regional University Games, which will be held in December in Cherepovets.
