The exhibition displays 33 photos of the leader of the Cuban revolution Fidel Castro. The photos were provided by the Vologda state historical, architectural and art museum-reserve. The exhibition is dedicated to the 94th anniversary of one of the most famous and charismatic political leaders of the 20th century. In the photos the Comandante is depicted with politicians, cultural figures and ordinary people. The photos were taken in Cuba, and during his visits to the USSR.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was held in the VSU Assembly hall. Vadim Perron, head of the VSU International Office, addressed the guests of the exhibition.
Dariya Dementieva, a 4th-year student at the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, spoke about her trip to Cuba last summer. The girl visited the “Island of Freedom” as part of the European team of voluntary work and solidarity with Cuba “Jose Marti”.
At the end of the official part Nikita Popov, a 3rd-year student at the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, performed the anthem of the Russian society of friendship with Cuba “Cuba is my love”.
The exhibition was organized with the assistance of the Interregional public organization “Russian society of friendship with Cuba” and the Vologda regional branch of the Russian society of friendship with Cuba.
