VSU students were the third in the qualification round for the quarterfinals of the ICPC student team world programming championship.
In total, 155 teams from different cities and universities of Russia took part in the competition, including 11 teams from Vologda State University. VSU was represented by such a big number of teams for the first time in the history of the competition.
The participants had to complete 12 tasks of various levels of complexity on topics such as graph algorithms, number theory, dynamic data structures, and others. The mathletes were given five hours to complete the tasks.
To solve each problem, they had to make a small computer program. The correctness of the participants ‘ programs was checked by an automatic system. The number of correctly solved problems was taken into account when summing up the results, and if the number of correct answers was equal, the one, who solved the problem first, won.
