The expedition “Together across the Russian North” has come to an end – 21 days, 4 crews, 1000 kilometers of waterways and tons of impressions. The expedition returned on the eve of the Geographer’s Day which is celebrated to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society.
The official celebration of homecoming took place in the town of Vytegra. On the embankment, parents, educators, officials, and artistic groups were awaiting the return of the young sailors of the cadet school “Korabely Prionezhya”.
The rector of Vologda State University Vyacheslav Priyatelev spoke about the important mission of the 4th children’s crew in the research expedition.
“You had an arduous mission, firstly, you had to wait for your turn to start on the journey, it was important to keep high spirits. And, secondly, the previous three crews set such a high bar that you had to do your best to be in line with them. You did a brilliant job!” – said the rector.
