The event was held at the Department of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication of Vologda State University as part of the Days of Student Science and was dedicated to the issues of education and science in Germany and Russia.
The Round table was attended by first through fourth year students. The first speaker was Daria Kuznetsova with a report on pre-school education in Germany. Ivan Lysak, Yulia Skornyakova, Milana Shakhmina and Greta Zitzer spoke about the peculiarities of German school education, its similarities and differences, the types of German schools, the disciplines taught in them and final exams.
From the report of a sophomore Maria Belova, the participants of the event learned how to get a higher education in Germany. Elizaveta Dlugach spoke about the current problems and trends in the development of the Master’s degree in Russia. The discussion highlighted advantages and disadvantages of the Russian education system, raised questions about the lack of jobs for teachers and drawbacks of final exams at school.
