The meeting of the Council of rectors of the Vologda Oblast was held at the Vologda State Dairy Farming Academy named after N.V. Vereshchagin.
On the agenda there was a question of implementation of the Federal project “Export of education” which should increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of Russian education in the international market. Vologda State University solves these issues quite successfully.
At present, VSU has 37 cooperation agreements with international scientific and educational organizations, including two agreements on network cooperation between Russian and German educational organizations.
VSU international cooperation is focused on joint research projects, academic and scientific events, courses, conferences, seminars, symposiums, lectures, academic and scientific exchange, and exchange of students.
Today, 92 international students attend lectures at the University. The students come from such countries as Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Estonia the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. 6 foreign citizens from Egypt, Syria and Yemen are currently attending the preparatory course at VSU. 27 more international students are planning to attend the preparatory courses at VSU.
“We are actively developing cooperation with educational and scientific organizations from Germany, Belarus, Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Finland in such areas as linguistics and intercultural communications, social technologies, applied mathematics, ecology, and environmental management. The sphere of biotechnologies and information technologies has a high potential for development”, said the Rector of the Vologda State University.
