Daniil Osipov, the head of Volunteer Rescue Squad, told the the first responders how to operate an Unmanned Arial Vehicle (UAV). The hands-on training took place at the Institute of Civil Engineering.
First, the volunteers studied the flight theory, and honed their skills of manual control during takeoff and landing. The theory was immediately used in practice.
UAVs, also known as drones or quadcopters, are used to monitor the terrain during search operations. UAVs make the search operations more efficient, as they use thermal imaging cameras.
The training is a part of a project “I’m looking for you”. The project received a grant of 482 thousand rubles. The money was spent on equipment which will help search for the missing people.
