The Kizhi State Historical, Architectural and Ethnographic Museum-Reserve is one of the largest open-air museums in Russia, a unique historical, cultural and natural complex, and a valuable cultural heritage site.
The Kizhi ensemble was included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites in 1990.
The young sailors visited the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the Church of the Intercession of the Virgin and the bell tower of the Kizhi churchyard.
The cadets also met with representatives of such professions as carpenter, spinner and cook. The craftsmen told the young sailors about their craft and shared their professional experience with the crew, and at the end of the tour, the students took part in a master class on cooking traditional Karelian pies.
