“Shipbuilders of Prionezhye”: expedition sets off

The participants of the expedition will travel onboard the gaff schooner “Onega Pearl” across Lake Onega 700 km in 16 days.

This year, 32 members of the Youth Club of the Russian Geographical Society, educators at the Prionezhye Shipbuilders Center, researchers of Vologda State University, tourism instructors, captains of the “Onega Pearl” and “Leader” vessels are participating in the expedition.

The young sailors will have to sail first 60 kilometers before they will make a stop at the mouth of the Chernaya River in Karelia. Here they will be exploring the eastern shore of Lake Onega, the Andoma geological section, and make a tour of the Murom Assumption Monastery.
