The round table “Preservation of national and ethno-cultural identity in the territory of the Vologda Oblast” was organized by the Center for Folk Culture, the regional branch of the Russian Folklore Union and the Civic Chamber of the Vologda Oblast.
The main topics of reports and discussions were dedicated to preservation of folklore and ethnographic materials, as well as developing education in the field of traditional folk culture.
VSU Professor Galina Paradovskaya made a report “Interaction between state and public institutions to solve common problems of preserving and updating the cultural heritage of the Vologda Oblast.” Associate Professor Oksana Reima’s speech was dedicated to the patriotic education of students by means of the Russian folklore in extracurricular activities of the university.
