Maxim Tsvetkov, 2017 World Champion, 2017 Champion of the World Military Games, 2014 Champion of Europe, master’s degree student at VSU, was selected to take part in the Olympic Games in Beijing.
Maxim has already got used to the weather conditions in Beijing, where the Olympic Games are being held.
“As a matter of fact, skis slide pretty easily on the snow but it is not exactly as it happens in Russia when it is minus 20 degrees centigrade outside, and the snow creaks under your skis. It wasn’t that cold yet. But it has been kind of cold in the Olympic Village for a couple of days, I even had to sleep in my woolen hat. But now everything is fine, we’ve gotten a heater,” Maxim Tsvetkov said in his interview for Match TV.
Sergey Tsvetkov, Maxim’s father, shared his impressions: “As a coach, I know how important the final moments before the start are. We are confident in Maxim’s performance. The most important thing now is to keep good health, tests are taken daily, and we hope that everything will be OK. Our entire city and region are rooting for Maxim, and we hope for good results.”
