Vladimir Borzenkov, Director General of the Center for Competencies in Mining Engineering under the auspices of UNESCO, held an online presentation of international academic mobility programs for students, postgraduates and young candidates of sciences.
The online meeting gathered vice-rectors and employees of international offices from a hundred of Russian universities.
An agreement between the Center and DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is signed for 4 years and can be extended for a period of another 4. Due to the large number of applications, the contestants will have to pass a preliminary selection at their home universities in 2022. And only after that, their applications will be assessed by the international commission.
The requirements for participants are high. This includes knowledge of English at the level of 6 – 6.5 IELTS (the alternative language is German), and a high-quality research project approved by the host university. To this end, before applying to the DAAD program, young scientists must choose a German university where they want to study. The funds for the program are equally divided between the countries: 50 percent of the funds are provided by the German government, and the second half is covered by the Mining University. During the internship, participants will receive a scholarship.
