The first award ceremony in the history of modern Russia took place on November 14, 2021 in Moscow Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society (RGS). This title was introduced in 2020 on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Chairperson of the Vologda Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society, Professor at Vologda State University Nadezhda Maksutova received the award from Sergei Shoigu, Minister of Defense of Russia and Chairperson of the Russian Geographical Society.
