The tournament was held in Yaroslavl from September 4 to September 5, 2021. Basketball teams from Yaroslavl, Vologda, Kotlas, Kineshma, Kostroma and the town of Sergiev Posad took part in the competition.
The tournament for the university team, under the leadership of the coach Dmitry Zyablikov, was quite successful. In the first match, the girls confidently defeated Kineshma’s team with a score 46:36, in the second – they lost to Sergiev Posad with a score 37:38 but still reached the finals.
In the finals the VSU team in painstaking struggle lost to a more experienced rival team from Yaroslavl with a score 43:63. Nevertheless, the VSU team is among the winners of the tournament.
