National Geographic Traveler magazine has launched an online voting “Treasures of Russia” which is dedicated to the tourist opportunities of our country.
The project is to identify the most popular landmarks which will help pinpoint new touristic attractions on the map of Russia.
Sophia Shilova, a graduate of Vologda State University, is the author of the project named “The Lace Line”. The lace line, painted on the sidewalks of Vologda, connects the most interesting historical sites of our city. This line will guide you through the city’s landmarks. You can take a tour alone or with a tour guide.
The walking tour of the historical center of Vologda “The Lace Line” participates in the category “Excursion route”.
All the projects were officially nominated by the regional authorities. Voting for the nominees is open and will take place until October 10. The results of the voting will be announced in November and published on the website Nat-geo.ru and in the National Geographic Traveler magazine.
