VSU students have travelled across the Vologda Oblast for a whole week, helping locals with their daily chores and entertaining people with concerts.
The team “Medveditsa” was in the Vologodsky district. In the village of Maisky, the students built an icy slide for children, met up with members of the women’s club “Knyazhitsa”, and put on an entertaining concert in the local House of Culture. In the village of Zarya they chopped firewood, cleaned snow in the playground of the kindergarten and conducted lessons for schoolchildren. In the village of Kubenskoye, apart from work, the team visited the Kubinsky District Museum of Local Lore named after V. A. Gavrilin. In the village of Kurkino the students learned about the history of the estate “Spasskoye-Kurkino”, which back in the day belonged to noblemen.
The team “Metelitsa” traveled through the Syamzhensky district. Like their counterparts from “Medveditsa” the young people did not slouch around: they chopped firewood, cleaned snow, taught kids in schools, sang and danced. On the last day of the trip, they took part in the ski race as a team.
