Since December 2021, social work students have been implementing the project “The Russian Soul”. The project is aimed at rendering socio–cultural rehabilitation of the patients of the psychoneurological care home in Vologda.

The program start is scheduled for June 1. Young people will be able to travel across the country and stay at university dormitories at affordable prices.
155 universities from 98 cities of Russia joined in the program. It will be possible to go on a trip not only in summer, but also during the academic year. Three travel options are available to young people: popular science, career guidance, cultural and educational tourism.
The “Spring Cup of Cleanliness” of the international project “Clean Games” is to be held in Vologda on April 23 as part of the International Forum “Ecology: City, Economy, People”. Organizational work is being actively carried out: training of volunteers, selection of territories for games and registration of teams. At the moment, 80 teams have applied for participation in the project, the total number of participants is about 300 people. The event organizers are the Youth Center “GOR.COM 35” and Administration of the city of Vologda.
VSU social work students, having studied the theoretical foundations of volunteering, are getting hand-on experience.
125 contestants from VSU, the North-Western Institute of the Kutafin Moscow State Law University, Vologda Agrarian and Economic College and Vologda schoolchildren gathered at VSU to test their knowledge.
In the first round, under the name “Music Notes”, the teams could choose a question from categories: “Modern tunes”, “A pig in a poke”, “New Year”, “Names”. It was necessary to name the songwriter and the name of the song in 10 seconds.
Scientific exhibition “Archimedes-2022” is a site for presenting new inventions and technologies to the public. The exhibition is held to increase the activity of inventors and manufacturers, and promote their innovations to the market.

Vologda State University educators have become participants in the project “League of Lecturers” under the auspice of the Russian Society “Znanie” (knowledge). The lectures will be dedicated to various topics such as vitality and vigor management; how to understand the message “hidden” in paintings through analysis and interpretation of fine art. Other topics include lectures on hybrid vehicles; how to deal with “inconvenient” questions when speaking in public; the geological history of the Vologda Oblast, and some others.
