VSU students choose healthy lifestyle

The creative competition “Your Choice”, dedicated to the struggle with harmful addictions, was held at the Institute of Management, Economics and Law of VSU.

“Alcohol does more harm to humanity than wars, famine and plague combined,” said Charles Darwin.

In order to have a healthy lifestyle, it is important to quit smoking, drinking alcohol, and taking drugs. Bad habits do a lot of harm to both individuals and the whole society.

The VSU Institute of Management, Economics and Law hosted a creative competition “Your Choice”, which aim was to promote healthy lifestyle among students.

The contestants tried to convince the audience of the advantages of a healthy lifestyle.

“Music that cleanses our souls”

It happens only once a year. Students at the Department of Musical Art and Education invite educators, future musicians, and those who love good music to their Alma Mater.  They show the audience what they have learned during the academic year.

This time, the students performed music by Yuly Kim, Mary Lynn Lightfoot, Sergey Pleshak, Bob Chilcott, Edvard Grieg, Antonín Leopold Dvořák, Frederic Chopin and many others.

The plenary session, dedicated to topical issues of biosafety, summed up the IV International Conference “Biotechnologies as the driver for development of territories”.

“The main objective for VSU is to train modern professionals. Biotechnologies combine the knowledge of various areas of science. Therefore, the task of the university is not only to teach biologists, programmers, ecologists, but also to provide them with modern competencies,” said Vyacheslav Priyatelev.

Vologda to host the IV International Conference on biotechnologies

The conference, which will be held in Vologda on April 14-15, will be attended by leading experts in the field of biotechnology from more than 20 regions of Russia, including representatives from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Kemerovo, Tver, Samara, Belgorod and others. Arrival of scientists from Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus is also expected.
