The young people came to Vologda from Senegal, Cameroon, Benin, Guinea, Mali, Congo and the Democratic Republic of CongoThey have been studying the Russian language at Vologda State University for almost a month. Classes will last until the end of the academic year, and then the international students will take exams in Russian and other subjects.
At the gym, some of the students tried to communicate in Russian.
“Of course, they can’t speak our language fluently yet, but they know some words. I’ve heard them say in Russian: “good”, “thank you”, “super”, “well done”. The guys are very friendly and positive,” said Vladislav Borozdin, a student at the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Education.
