The semi-final of the All-Russian competition “League of Lecturers” was held in St. Petersburg.
Alexander Matveev, Associate Professor at the Department of Theory, History of Culture and Ethnology, delivered a lecture on allegory in art.
Associate Professor at the Department of Biology and Chemistry, Dmitry Krivosheev surprised the audience with his lecture “Are genes to blame for everything?”
Lyudmila Yakushiva, Associate Professor at the Department of Theory, History of Culture and Ethnology spoke about Kulturträgers (bearers of culture). According to Professor Yakusheva, the culture bearers of the Vologda Oblast are the writer Galina Shchekina, the tour guide Ekaterina Khobotova, and a blogger Ilya Rakitin, author of the blog “Nason Gryadushiy”.
The competition “League of Lecturers” is being held for the third time. In total, 400 lecturers from all over Russia have made it through to the semi-finals of the competition. The finalists were selected by the audience, and those who watched the broadcast online. The results will be announced in mid-April.
