VSU students learned about domestic tourism

On the International Tourism Day, September 27, Dmitry Shevtsov, deputy head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Oblast, gave a lecture  on the development of domestic tourism.

“The Vologda Oblast is located at the intersection of transport routes to Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Siberia. Nearly 50 million people live in these territories. All those people can be our guests,” said Dmitry Shevtsov.

There are more than 3,500 cultural and tourist sites in the territory of the Vologda Oblast. Other than that, there are 319 hotels in the Vologda Oblast. Over the past ten years 300 new infrastructure facilities have been built in our region.

In 2021, almost 600 thousand tourists visited our region.
