The International Office of VSU engages in the development of international contacts, provides assistance in escorting delegations, conducts telephone negotiations with foreign partners, and organizes cultural programs for the foreign delegations.

The International Office offers students an opportunity to participate in academic programs of international exchange.

INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

International students upon arrival in the Russian Federation need to know some key rules to stay legally in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Please take this information with great responsibility. This may be very important for your further stay in the Russian Federation without any problems or other troubles with migration authorities.

  • International students upon arrival in the Russian Federation are obliged within 3 days from the date of crossing the border to provide their documents (passport and migration card) to the International Office (15 Lenina street, office 104, tel.: 7-8172-72-23-67) for registration in case they are staying in the university dormitory. If an applicant (international student) does not stay in the university dormitory, migration registration is solely their responsibility (i.e. an international student must be registered at the place of actual accommodation (Federal Law No. 163-FZ as of June 27, 2018). In this case, the International Office employees will help you get a registration.
  • Each time you leave the Russian Federation, you must notify the International Office. When returning to the Russian Federation, it is necessary to submit your documents for migration registration to the International Office once again (if you stay in the dormitory) or get registered with the migration authorities (if you do not stay in the dormitory).
  • The documents for the extension of registration (if you stay in the territory of the Russian Federation longer than 90 days) are accepted no later than 20 days before the end of registration.
  • The documents for visa extension are accepted 45 days before the expiration date of your visa.

Documents for migration registration

  • Passport and copies of all its pages (with personal data, passport validity, visa);
  • Migration card and a copy of migration card; A copy of the previous notification of migration registration (if available);
  • Certificate which confirms study at VSU;
  • A copy of the study contract with Vologda State University (if available).

Documents for visa extension

  • Passport and copies of all pages of the passport with stamps;
  • Migration card and a copy of the migration card;
  • A copy of the notification of migration registration;
  • Receipt for state duty payment (1600 rubles.);
  • 1 photo (3×4);
  • Certificate confirming the fact of your studying at the VSU;
  • Copy of the study contract;
  • Violation of the rules of migration registration entails a fine and subsequent administrative liability for foreign citizens.
